Jamie Sorrentini's Bio
Jamie Sorrentini was born in New Jersey. At the age of seven she landed her first national commercial – a spot for Ragu spaghetti sauce. This led to a succession of commercials for Life Cereal, AT&T, Nabisco Cookies, and modeling gigs in magazines like Vogue Bambini.
She got her equity card at the age of nine, showing off her roller skating skills in a Regional production of “The Rink”. Her natural talent continued to shine as she worked off-broadway alongside Oscar nominee Tom Hulce in Haddock’s Eyes, a play about Lewis Carroll.
On weekends she traveled to Manhattan to sing in a vocal harmony trio at the famous Caroline’s then located in South Street Seaport. The group also made an appearance on the popular kids TV show “Steampipe Alley” hosted by Mario Cantone.
When she wasn’t performing, she was competing in horse shows, playing tennis, or traveling to New York City for dance classes and singing lessons.
She gained praise playing Gerald McRaney’s daughter in the holiday classic, “A Hobo’s Christmas” also starring Barnard Hughes. Success continued with screen tests for the hit TV shows “Blossom” and “Major Dad” and a supporting role in the HBO after school special, “The Babysitter’s Club”.
It wasn’t long before Jamie was off to New York University to study Acting at the prestigious Tisch School of the Arts. While there she went through extensive training studying everything from Shakespeare to Strasberg. NYU also supplied her with opportunity to pursue other interests such as Art History and Photography.
She continued to indulge in her passion for the theater by performing in numerous plays around town. Some of her favorites were “The Beloved Dearly” at Lincoln Center Institute, “Birdy’s Bachelorette Party” and “Cowboy Mouth” at the Ensemble Studio Theater. Meanwhile, she made guest appearances on shows like “Law and Order” and “The Sopranos”, juggling her love for both the theater and the set.
She finally decided to take the plunge and leave the Big Apple, which in itself has been quite fruitful. You can catch her on episodes of “NYPD Blue”, “Numbers” and most recently “Las Vegas”.
